Draw attention to your best features with these simple tips.
As I shared in my previous post, having an Apple body shape means that you have that broad midsection, in comparison to which your hands and legs look smaller and skinnier.
If you are gifted with a full, wide bust, torso and belly, you have a lot of great outfit styles to choose from! The key is to downplay the midsection and highlight other features with the outfits that have the most suitable length, cut and style.
A V-neck is the most suitable neckline for the apple-shaped body. This type of neckline, in varying depths, can accentuate the bust area and keep the attention away from the broad midriff.
The neck and the bust are the two most flaunt-worthy parts of apple-shaped physiques. Avoid hiding them under high necks, closed collars or round necklines. Instead, spruce up the wardrobe with dresses, tops and shirts that feature a well-defined neckline.
To address the fact that your arms look smaller, simply wear long sleeves. The shorter the sleeve, the more clearly visible the thinness of the arm will be. Hence, avoid short sleeves or sleeveless dresses, and wear full sleeves that hide the contrast between your midriff size and the diameter of your arms.
While the dressing mainly focuses on toning down the focus on the midsection, you can also wear outfits that balance out the fullness in the lower body, aligning it to the fullness of your torso.
And the right kinds of pants will do wonders in striking this balance. Skinny jeans are not the right choice for the apple body shape, as they will only make the smallness of the legs more obvious.
Instead, a pair of flared pants or pants with a loose, wide shape work well in creating the impression of a fuller lower body. The ideal pant styles would be flared pants, harem pants, wide bottom jeans, palazzos.
You don’t want to show off your waistline if you have an apple body. So it’s best to avoid dresses that have waistlines, belts and strings that fasten around the waistline.
Where you wear your pants also dictates how proportionate your body looks. Always wear your bottom outfits a little below your hipbone. This will make the midriff seem longer and sleeker.
Swing dresses can do justice to the apple-shaped body, as they beautifully cover the midriff and lower features with a flare.
So there you have it. Low-waist flared pants, skirts, no clenched hips, long sleeves, swing dresses. Bring home these, and get gorgeous, you sweet, scrumptious apple!
