The Philadelphia Eagles have a huge showdown with the Houston Texans this week as their playoff fate lies in the balance. Philadelphia is right in the thick of the NFC Wild Card race, but needs to win out and have the Minnesota Vikings lose one of their last two games in order to clinch a playoff spot.
The Texans also have some playoff implications as well. A win for Houston seals the AFC South title. They can clinch the first first-round bye in franchise history with a win over the Eagles and a New England Patriots loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Big game on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field for sure, one which will be broadcasted by CBS this week. While Eagles fans are unfamiliar with CBS (Fox typically broadcasts NFC games), Texans fans are used to seeing their games on CBS as they cover the AFC. Sunday's game is in a regional window (the Eagles first regional window since Week 12 and only second since the bye week).

“Well, I think number one, I can stand here and say that Carson is our quarterback,” said Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. “He's our quarterback in the future. That's why we drafted him. It's also why we have Nick here as a backup, as a veteran player to – I don't want to say bail us out, but to come in and execute the offense. I think we just continue to reconfirm that with Carson and let him know that. Continue to say, 'Hey, listen you're going to be here for a long time, have a long career.'
“We just have to commit to that and communicate that to him and let that kind of sink in.”
