Yes, we've all heard it before: “This hip new joint just opened up down the street and the food/ drinks are all the rave.” Oftentimes, the food, service, and prices do not live up to the hype. Or the lines.
Bardonna is the opposite of that. Not only is the coffee amazing and the food legit, but it's so nondescript, I was actually passing by it on a regular basis without realizing it was there. For, like, 2 years.
Okay! Down to business. The coffee here is a reason to come all its own. They do have the regular gamut of java available, but my opinion is that if you don't try their specialty drinks like the Sea Salt Cold Brew or the Honey Vanilla Latte, you just ain't doing it right. The Sea Salt Cold Brew is made with a nice thick sea salt foam, caramel, and of course, cold brew. The Honey Vanilla Latte is pleasantly sweet with the perfect amount of thickness from the milk. They do offer alternatives ranging from cashew to oat milk. Sounds weird, but tastes amazing in coffee.
The food menu is impressively large, but everything has a unique and healthy addition in each one to ensure you're not just eating the same old boring coffee shop fare. The Chicken Rice Bowl with Tumeric Rice, Hen-of-the-Woods Mushrooms, Organic Grilled Chicken, Fried Egg, Sprouts, and Avocado is the most popular, and with good reason. It is one of the most filling, delicious, savory bowls I've ever eaten.
The Huevos Rancheros are another local favorite, and is a protein-packed way to start the day. And if you're hankering for breakfast in the middle of the day, you're in luck. Everything on the menu is served all day long. The pastries are also delicious. The carrot cake loaf is one of the best I've had and I usually don't like carrot cake. And they're GLUTEN-FREE! Nothing here disappointed. Even the teas here are amazing, no matter what you order.
So give the other coffee shops a break and come give this little gem a try.
