The Philadelphia Eagles set the tone early in the game when Kamu Grugier-Hill picked off Eli Manning and it set up the Eagles in good field position. On the ensuing drive for the Eagles, Carson Wentz scrambled on a third down play and found wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey for a 13-yard touchdown and it gave Philadelphia a 7-0 lead early. The Philadelphia Eagles would cruise to a 34-13 victory over the New York Giants.
Wentz completed 26-of-36 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 14 yards on two carries.
With Philadelphia leading 7-3 in the first, Corey Clement scored on a 1-yard touchdown run. Clement finished with 43 rushing yards on 11 carries and a score. He also caught three passes for 26 yards receiving. Wendell Smallwood also rushed for 51 yards on 18 carries. The Eagles placed running back Jay Ajayi on injured reserve because of a Torn ACL.
With the Philadelphia Eagles leading 14-6 in the second-quarter, Carson Wentz threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Zach Ertz. He finished with seven receptions for 43 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Philadelphia led 24-6 at halftime. It was raining boos in Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. left the field before halftime because of dehydration. He finished with six receptions for 44 yards receiving.
On the opening drive of the second half for the Philadelphia Eagles, Carson Wentz threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffrey. He finished with eight receptions for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Nelson Agholor led the Eagles in receiving with three receptions for 91 yards receiving.
Running back Saquon Barkley was the lone stud for the New York Giants on the night. He scored on a 50-yard touchdown run in the third. Barkley finished with 130 rushing yards on 13 carries and a score. He also had nine catches for 99 yards receiving.
Odell Beckham Jr. continued to show his frustration on his sideline. Eli Manning struggled all game long. He completed 24-of-43 passes for 281 yards and one interception. Manning struggled to throw passes down the field. In reality, the New York Giants need to move on from him as the starting quarterback today.
They look lifeless and they need a massive spark. The New York Giants (1-5) should start rookie Kyle Lauletta next Monday night on the road against the Atlanta Falcons (1-4).
The Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) will be host the Carolina Panthers (3-1) next Sunday.
