After Kenyan Drake fumbled at the one-yard line in overtime and the Chicago Bears recovered, it seemed as if doomsday was heading for Drake and the Miami Dolphins once again. The Bears got the ball back and Cody Parkey missed a 53-yard field goal, so the Dolphins got another chance in overtime. Jason Sanders made the game-winning 47-yard field goal for the Miami Dolphins as time expired to lift them to a 31-28 victory in overtime over the Chicago Bears.
Brock Osweiler threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Nick O'Leary in the first-quarter for the Miami Dolphins. Osweiler started this game because Ryan Tannehill was inactive because of a shoulder injury.
With the Chicago Bears trailing 7-0 in the third-quarter, Mitchell Trubisky threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Trey Burton. Burton finished with four receptions for 23 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Allen Robinson caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Trubisky later in the third-quarter. Robinson finished with five receptions for 64 yards receiving and a touchdown.
With Chicago leading 14-10 later in the third, Tarik Cohen scored on a 21-yard rushing touchdown. Cohen finished with 31 rushing yards on five carries and a touchdown. He also caught seven passes for 90 yards receiving. Jordan Howard was the Bears leading rusher with 69 yards on 14 carries.
With the Chicago Bears leading 21-13 in the fourth, it seemed as if the Bears were going to up two scores, but they would be called for a penalty. Mitchell Trubisky would then throw an interception later in that drive.
When Miami got the ball back, Albert Wilson caught a 43-yard touchdown pass from Brock Osweiler (2-point conversion Kenny Stills).
Anthony Miller caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Mitchell Trubisky with 3:17 remaining in regulation. That was Miller's only reception of the game. Taylor Gabriel was the Chicago Bears leading receiver with five receptions for 110 yards receiving. Trubisky completed 22-of-31 passes for 316 yards three touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 47 yards on eight carries.
Sixteen seconds after Chicago scored a touchdown, Albert Wilson scored on a 75-yard touchdown reception for the Miami Dolphins from Brock Osweiler. Wilson finished with six receptions for 155 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He also rushed for -5 yards on one carry.
Osweiler completed 28-of-44 passes 380 yards three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for eight yards on two carries. Frank Gore was the Miami Dolphins leading rusher with 101 yards on 15 carries.
The Chicago Bears (3-2) will host the New England Patriots (3-2) next Sunday. The Miami Dolphins (4-2) will host the Detroit Lions (2-3) next Sunday.
