Wild Card Weekend was exciting for the most part except for the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans game. Indianapolis, Dallas, Los Angeles Chargers, and Philadelphia all advanced to the next round. Houston, Seattle, Baltimore, and Chicago will begin to prepare for the 2019 season.
The NFC Divisional Round should be just as exciting. My record with my picks last week was 1-3.
AFC: (6) Indianapolis Colts 28 (1) Kansas City Chiefs 31: This could be the most exciting game of the weekend. The quarterback battle between Andrew Luck and Patrick Mahomes should be fun. Both teams will run the ball effectively as well. The Colts are 4-0 all time against the Chiefs in the postseason, but this year will be different. The Chiefs are on a mission. Mahomes will most likely be the MVP of the NFL this season and he will prove why the Kansas City Chiefs decided to trade Alex Smith this past offseason.
NFC: (4) Dallas Cowboys 20 (2) Los Angeles Rams 27: This game was probably the toughest to choose from. The Cowboys played well at home against the Seahawks last week. Dak Prescott made the right play at the right time. Ezekiel Elliott was effective on the ground as well and he will be again this week. Todd Gurley will also show up to ball for the Rams. C.J. Anderson will be an x-factor for this team. The key in this game will be which secondary plays better.
AFC: (5) Los Angeles Chargers 13 (2) New England Patriots 15: Weather could play a factor in this weekend's game. It is supposed to be very cold and it could play into the Patriots favor because they are used to it. The only thing that is positive for the Chargers is that they have not lost a game yet away from Los Angeles this season. This team is built like a cold weather team because they can run the football and rush the passer. Philip Rivers has never beaten Tom Brady in his NFL career and this might be his best shot to.
NFC: (6) Philadelphia Eagles 20 (1) New Orleans Saints 42: People need to pump the breaks on the Nick Foles hype train. He did play well enough in the Eagles win last week, but if the field goal wasn't blocked, Philadelphia wouldn't be playing this week. A lot of people are praising Foles right now he can do no wrong and it will come to an end this week. I don't see the Saints losing this one after beating them 48-7 back in Week 11. New Orleans is a better football team in all three phases of the game. Drew Brees will go no huddle early and often. Sean Payton will not be afraid to make gutsy moves in the game. Taysom Hill will be a major x-factor for the New Orleans Saints on Sunday evening.
Bold Predictions: 1. The Chiefs sack Andrew Luck four times.
2. Jared Goff throws for 400 yards and two touchdowns against the Cowboys.
3. Tom Brady doesn't reach 300 passing yards against the Chargers.
4. The Saints rush for 150 yards on the ground against the Eagles.
