Negativity is like a drug. Its strong magnetic pull invites you in, convincing you it is the right path to follow until you find yourself suffocating in negative thoughts, hating the fact that you allowed yourself to be swallowed by it, and in turn only creating more negativity for yourself. It's one of those things where the more you feed your cravings for it, the stronger it gets. It does it without you being consciously aware that you are doing it. It becomes a lifestyle; the way you perceive everything, the way you interact with people, the way you feel, everything. They say the only way to fight it, is to not feed it, but everyone knows going cold turkey on an addiction never lasts long.. so how do you really get rid of negative thoughts entirely and become a positive being?
There is no straight forward answer to this as many of you will already know. Postivity is something you need to be passionate about and really want in your life in order to chase out the negativity. Negative thoughts have a way of creeping back into your mind and destroying your attempts at becoming a positive being. You've got to really want it. You've got to mentally and physically change the way your brain is wired.
Seeing the positive in every situation is a good place to start. As soon as a negative thought appears in your head, think to yourself, why did I think that? How could I rearrange that thought to make it a positive one? This isn't always easy, but good things take time. I, myself, am still on my journey to becoming a positive, happy and content human being. If anyone else can relate, sometimes expressing yourself(in whichever form you chose) can be the key to succeeding. Remebering how far you have come from where you once were and knowing that one day you may have the power to help others get to where you are now is one of the many reasons to keep on keeping on and turn your life around for the better.
