Should the Jazz trade for Tim Hardaway Jr.?

The Utah Jazz are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference and out of the playoff picture. They need a spark to make the playoffs and trading for Tim Hardaway Jr. may be just what they need.

The New York Knicks are relying on Hardaway Jr. for scoring this year. He is living up to the contract that the Knicks signed him to. They decided to pay him $71 million for the next four years. That was a lot of money for a player that hasn't done much prior to this season.

His performance this year will make teams rethink that contract. He has become a focal point in the Knicks offense. His trade value is at an all-time high and the Knicks would be smart to capitalize on it.

The reason why Hardaway Jr. will most likely be traded is because the Knicks need to create room if they want to sign Kevin Durant. And the Knicks will most definitely make a play for the best offensive player in the NBA.

This is also a great opportunity for the Jazz. They need another scorer to help them. Donovan Mitchell needs help and soon. He is having a poor season and that is because he is the main scoring option and teams know that. If the Jazz add another scorer, Mitchell will see less attention and may have a great season.

Making the playoffs in the Western Conference is not easy and you need a lot of firepower. The Jazz lack that firepower. Their best player is only in his second season and needs more experience before he becomes an elite player. With Hardaway Jr. as the one-two punch, the Jazz can make a run in the second half of the NBA and make another playoff run.
